The Totem pole rises next to a gathering of thicker spires the Navajo call Yei Bi Chei, only way to access this particular location is with a Navajo guide, his name Dasan. It was an unforgettable trip on the chaotic road, winding through a spectacular desert landscape of red stone rocks sculpted by erosion. Coming across this scene I knew we had to stop here and set up the shot. These rock formations are sacred for Navajo Indians, as Dasan explains, named after the resemblance to an Indian totem pole, these stand out against this magnificent sky mixed with serene clouds and full of color with late afternoon sun illuminating my subject. I was greeted with the magic of this enchanted land.
