The mysterious origin of the phenomenon Racetrack Play’s sliding rocks has made this remote location a very unique site for photographers and even for scientific research. Not an easy reach, the road is very bumpy ( washboard) out of the way and unpaved with mainly volcanic sharp rocks, I had to see this place for myself, you need a 4x4 vehicle with above average height above the ground and certainly extra supplies for a few days in case of a breakdown, no such thing as reception and not a soul in sight. I had the perfect conditions once I arrived with a rich clear blue sky, I started walking my way through this massive and surreal playa when I came across this very unusual scene, extremely rare to see these rocks crossing each other, the warm sun was beginning to set and I knew I had to capture this opportunity before setting camp and continue exploring this magical location the next day.
